Ultrasound 9/17/09

Today's scan went well. All three babies gained 2 oz. Dr. Carr is happy with nutritional therapy & says it is working. That helps make me feel better about laying here drinking shakes day after day. Let's cross our fingers that they all keep growing steadily! Their weights are Jaydin: 1 pound, Jerzee 15 oz, and Journee 10 oz.

Can't Believe I'm in the Hospital! :(

Yesterday (August 31st) at our regular checkup, we learned that my cervix what shortening. To help prevent preterm delivery, doctors suggested a cerclage & permanent bed rest. I was rushed to St. Joseph's where I remain. The surgery was this morning. I received my 1st spinal ever. I was very scared, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. The surgery was very scary because there is a risk that baby A's bag would rupture. It did not, thank god! If all goes well, I will be out of the hospital in a day or two. I feel horrible because I cannot greet my students on their first day back. I know they will understand. When I called today to check on them, they all shouted "hi" to me. It made me cry...I'm soooo hormonal. I've been placed on ensure which I will sip slowly all day long for the rest of the pregnancy. I need to work now to keep them in and keep them growing. Staying horizontal & eating well should do the trick. There are a lot of people praying for all four of us. Thank you to them. My mom is scanning my ultrasounds from yesterday so I will post them soon. Stay tuned!

Coming Along

I am excited to say that the babies' room is coming along. I am glad I am doing it now rather than later because it's tiring!! It's been a while since I've posted because we've been working on the paint and the floor for the room. Here are two pics giving you an inside peak. :)

Ultrasound Photos - August 3rd 15 weeks

Today I saw Dr. Carr again. She insured me that all three babies are doing well. Baby A is definately a boy and babies B and C are identical girls. Baby A is about 4 oz., baby B 4 oz., and baby C 3 oz. We're going to watch baby C closely to make sure she is getting enough of the shared placenta. I go back in two weeks to check on the babies growth. Dr. Carr informed me that most triplets are born 6 weeks early. Since my due date is January 28th, the 6 week early date would be December 12th. I hope that I can make it that far (or further) w/o any problems. Now that I know the sexes for sure, I am going to register....I can't wait!!!! Here are pics from the ultrasound. The blue one is baby A (boy) and if you look closely there is a mouse in the shape of a hand pointing at his you knowwhat. The pink picture is of the girls, spooning as per usual. The black and white shows all three stomachs. Enjoy!!

Summer Update

Yesterday was very nice. We went to a birthday party and to an awning party. Don't ask what an awning party is...just an excuse to get together. It was VERY nice and there was lots of great food at both parties. The best news of all is that my aunt is pregnant! She is 5 weeks, which puts her 10 weeks behind me. I think it is awesome that that all the babies will be so close in age. I went to a great rummage yesterday and got two Boppies and some really cute girl outfits. I can't wait to get a dresser so that I can start going through the clothes I'm picking up. The kids all had fun at the parties. They ate a lot, played guitar hero, and even some nighttime hide 'n seek. It turned out to be a great summer day/evening.

Tomorrow I am back to class....taking a summer course to brush up on my 7th grade math. By the looks of the teachers' edition, I need the help. Wish me luck. My body is going to be in for a shock when that alarm goes off. Stay tuned.
